When potty training you never know how many pairs of underwear you will need.

Father's Day 2010

Here we are in June and I haven't blogged since February, yikes!
All is well with our little family. I ended my fourth year of teaching fourth grade, I had a fantastic group of kiddos this year. Sadly, it was my last year in the modular classroom (two years in those things was two years too many)! I recently had a rather large accomplishment for myself. I didn't think I could ever be a runner, but I recently competed in a four mile race in Georgetown. I was super slow, but I met my goal of running the whole time, I even got a bit competitive at times. Maybe in my next post I will have a longer race to report, we'll see!
As for Bobby, he has been running as well. He is like a gazelle, for every one mile I run, he runs like 5. I guess we have decided as a family that fitness is something we really want to instill in Ella. And that silly show "Biggest Loser" has been a bit of an inspiration as well.
So, as for Ella, she will be two in just one month! She is a full on toddler, whining even as we speak. As whiny as she can be, she is still so fun! We are having a blast this summer; swimming hiking, lots of park days, and some library time as well. I would have to say my favorite thing about Ella right now is how she can actually tell me a few stories that we read all the time. "Where the Wild Things Are," is probably her favorite book. She can tell me what is happening on every page. She even adds voice and character, it cracks me up every time!
We started potty training at the beginning of summer and we have made some huge progress (knock on wood)! She just seems to get it, we are pretty much down to using diapers only when she sleeps. Hopefully by my next post we will be done completely!
As for talking, she says it all (but most of the time Bobby and I are the only ones who can understand her).
Well, for now that is all I have to report. I will attach a few pics and post again after her birthday and our upcoming trip back east.
