Colby William!

Tree Gettin' in Salida. Our first Pinon Pine-my new favorite type of tree.

I know I know! I am bad blogger! But here I am ready to share lots of pics and stories. Unfortunately the pics start from most recent and go backwards.

Puttin' up lights!

Ella likes to dress him up!

She loves him!
My crazy side of the family.

A pooped rock star.

Celia and Colby (she is 6 weeks older).

Lexi and Marah came for the weekend to meet the little guy! We had way too much fun as usual! A hike to Irwin, making cookies, carving pumpkins, and hanging out. Good times!
Col at his first birthday party (Ella's friend Anika turning 4).

Gramma Cookie and the two new bundles. Taylor and Colby. Taylor was born on August 18th.

GG and Col. Less than one week old.
First real bath-absolutely loved it!

Uncle Andy is so good with kids!

Look familiar? Yes we did this to Ella her first Halloween too.
She actually touched the guts this year!

Ella and Nolan at the Little Red Halloween Party. Still Best buddies.
Ella's new BFF-Grandpa Bill. Not only does he take her snowmobiling, he shares salami with her! She was a self-proclaimed vegetarian until Bill introduced her to Salami. It's a start, right?

Okay, well after seeing those pics you can tell that having another kiddo hasn't slowed us down. We are all loving life as usual. Colby is now 3 month old and is a very good baby. He even started sleeping through the nigh last week! I think he knows I have to go back to work soon and he wants to make it easy on me. We have all been blessed with good health lately, thank goodness!

So, to fill you in on the birth, his due date was October 6th but since it was going to be a C-section they schedule it a week early. So, his date was going to be the 30th of September. Well, he had other plans. I went into labor at 4:30 in the morning on September 24th. I wasn't real sure if I was having contractions, so I waited till 6:30 to call the Dr. We were SOOOOO lucky that Blair was here (even though it is likely her fault that I went into labor, because she had me laughing so hard the night before). I came upstairs and asked her to hang with Ella while we went to the hospital. Blair is a Pediatrician, so she was in okay hands.

Bobby went and took a shower and the contractions started to really hurt. We got going right away. By the time we were in CB South, they were 3 minutes apart. I was starting to panic. It can be bad news if you have had a C section in the past and go into labor, so it was a bit scary. After we got to the hospital everything went smooth. Colby William was born at 8:40 that morning weighing in at 5 lbs 12 oz. The funny thing about that is that I had two doctors tell me that I had a big baby in there. One even said she thought he was approaching 8 lbs. So it was a shock that he was just a little peanut.

It was an okay recovery and we are all doing great. He is actually a very good little baby. He is very happy and is a good eater and sleeper. And most importantly he is very healthy!

His big sister is completely head over heals for him. We call her the smooch monster because she is constantly sneaking in kisses. She always wants to hold him and loves to join him in his baby play area. He is very tolerant of her 'smothering' him. We wouldn't want it any other way.

Speaking of the big sis, I would love to stop time right now with her. She is amazing! She is polite, funny, kind and just overall the best kid ever. She has her moments and she is learning to argue, but other than that we are having a blast. Her skiing is coming right along. She is making turns and stopping on her own on easy greens. Dad takes her whenever he can.

With Christmas two days away I think it is pretty funny that she wants a "tool set" for Christmas. Santa sure did give her a crazy look when she asked for that!

I will be back at work starting the 2nd of January. It is bitter sweet. I am going to die inside a little when I drop him off at daycare but I am very fortunate to have an amazing daycare and they are both only going two days a week. Bobby will be home with them three days a week. He will work his four tens Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. I will have them on the weekends. It will be hard to not have a day together, but it is short lived and will work for now. I am however, really looking forward to getting back into the classroom. I have a large class but they are a great group, so it will be fun and challenging.

Well, I know I am missing a lot here, but I need to get few winks. I will try and post more later.

Summer Time at it's Best!

Two months to go! As much as I do not want anyone to see how big I am, I thought it ought to be documented. With only two months to go, I am getting excited to meet the newest kid on the "Block." Scheduled date for the C-section is September 30th. While a name is not for sure, we have a few in the works, but we are not ready to share. It has been a pretty easy pregnancy and Ella has done her best to keep me very busy this summer, so I haven't had much time to think about the discomforts. My friend Aimee is due any day with her second and Aunt Bobby is due in a few weeks. It has been fun to be prego with a great friend and a sister.
Getting stuck in a cattle drive continues to be one of my all time favorite things about living here. Ella was quite fascinated!
Fun with the camera on July 4th.
Bummer that I forgot my camera, so I didn't get many good pics of Ella at her first Colorado Rockies game with her BFF Marah. They had a great time and even got to meet (well see) Dinger the Dinosaur. Tons of fun!

Gran Jan has been teaching a mom/daughter tap dance class. It has been super fun for both of us to learn something new together! Thanks Jan!
We were lucky enough to have a visit from our Lamar friends Devyn and Katie. We learned that our girls have some super cool dance moves and love the song "Poker Face."
Ella and Cruz have gotten to spend lots of time together this summer. He is such a cutie pie!
Ella caught her first fish this summer on a Dora fishing pole. It was a sight to be seen.

It's a boy!
So this was in the spring, but it was Ella's first single track on her strider. All was going great until I looked over and she was looking to the right and riding to the left. She crashed right into a drainage ditch! It was a cold and wet ride home!
Okay, some birthday pics! Ella opening her beautiful necklace from Aunt Bonny
And a very neat book from Blair.

A style shot of Ella dressed up in her white denim outfit from Grandma Bettye. Grandma Bettye continues to show us what style is. She also has her new "fabio" puppy that she enjoys taking care of.
Ella got to have her first school birthday celebration and I had to stop by to get a shot. She was pretty pumped about being the birthday girl at school.

Gramma Cookie at the birthday party. I think she is looking forward to having a few new babies around!

Lola, Anika, Ella and Mara

The best part of the party!

The blond haired babies of the Butte

The slide was a hit! What are we going to do next year to make this party even better???
The birthday girl gets her first real bike!
I would have to say, if their is one thing Ella is really into this summer, it has been "buggy bugs."
I know you are thinking "no way she is related to Sarah if she likes bugs!" So here is a pic of her ant farm and her other favorite thing-Nolan!

Her and her BFF Nolan enjoying some s'mores.
This was our beautiful camp site.
Here is a shot of the Schofield pass snow slide. Definitely one of the coolest things I have seen in a while. It is a place that slides every year, but is usually melted out by mid June. This year at the end of July it is not looking like it is going to melt this year. I would say it is at least 100 yards long and 20 feet deep.

Oh how we are gonna miss uncle Andy! He made a big move recently. He moved over to Leadville and is driving a haul truck for the mine. It is a great job and I wish him luck! Ella sure is gonna miss him!

Ella, Lola and Anika checking out the band on the 4th.
I love the creepy dude in the background.

Aunt Linda the mountain goat came for a day and Andy took us on yet another adventure. He found the old Jokerville Mine and took us to see it.

Unfortunately late this spring, we lost Grandma Flo. Here is a great pic of Aunt Patti and Diane toasting to her at the river. Flo always enjoyed a good cocktail by the river! We miss you Flo!

Mothers Day 2011-best day ever! Worst day ever the next day! Bobby played with Ella in the WestWall pool while I sat out to get some "color" after a super long cold spring. I got the worst sunburn I have ever had. Lesson learned.
Tricks!
Andy and Meg celebrated their B-day's together. Ice cream cake! Yummmm!
