The Great Sand Dunes
Well, I've been getting kind of sentimental lately. This little "bean" as we call her is growing up fast. I started thinking about the need to document stories rather than events, and yesterday she made me laugh so many times that I realized it's time to document a story or two from my imaginative little girl.
I work at West Wall Lodge and my (our) favorite perk of the job is the heated pool. Well, El is getting to be quite the swimmer so we headed up there for some splashing in the sun. One of her favorite things to do at WW is to push the button to ride the elevator. Running toward the elevator with her dad chasing, yelling, "I'm faster!" she trips, loses both shoes, gets up, pushes the button and doesn't even realize she lost her shoes. Sometimes I wonder about her.
She is getting to be quite the dare devil with daddy and to hear her say to Bobby after being thrown about 4 feet into the air in the pool, " I want more big air daddy" was music to his ears.
Prior to swimming, during lunch, she told me about a few trips she had recently been on. She went to Papa Mike's house and saw 2 dinosaurs and an alligator and they nibbled on her fingers. She also informed me of her trip where her and Uncle Andy recently blasted off to space. She talks a lot. We know she is related to Bonny.
And just this morning, she plopped down in her princess chair and stated "I need a rest, I am old and tired." Does this mean we have officially read "The Giving Tree" one to many times?
She has so many great things to say and do lately and I thought I should share and document a few of them. As much as I miss the "baby Ella," I love this big girl.
.............. And....... I may have forgotten to mention, that on Bobby's Birthday this year we celebrated more than just his birthday, but also the knowing that we have another fireball on the way! I have my 19 week appointment today. We will find out if it will be all boy, or more girl in the weeks to come. This new babe will only be 6 weeks younger than Aunt Bonny and JP's! How fun to have cousins so close in age! Here are a few new pics.
ps: Mathematically impossible to read "The Giving Tree" too many times... I should know... :)
